Abstract

PURPOSE:To lower the costs of installations and production by directly coupling a descaling device consisting essentially of pickling between fore stage and rear stage cold rolling devices which perform rolling of specific drafts. CONSTITUTION:A hot rolled steel plate which is being delivered by a payoff reel 1, and an uncoiler 2 is passed through a shear 3, a welder 4, bridle rolls 5, a loop car 6 and bridle rolls 7, and is fed to a fore stage cold rolling device 8. In the device 8, the hot rolled steel plate is cold rolled at 10-40% drafts. Then, it is passed through the pickling tank 10 and washing tank 12 of a descaling device 10 so that an acid soln. is penetrated in the scale of the surfaces crushed by the device 8 whereby the steel plate is descaled in a short time. Thence, it is subjected to rolling of >=10% rate of rolling whereby the steel plate is finished to prescribed dimensional accuracy and sufficient luster is given on the surfaces of the steel plate. The steel plate having undergone the rolling is coiled on a tension reel 17 via pinch rolls 15.
