Abstract
PURPOSE: To concentrate a solution containing nutrient components which contribute the proliferation of bacteria, preventing the proliferation of the bacteria, and maintaining the properties of the concetrated solution at a preferably state, by the reverse osmosis of the solution using a specific heat-resistant reverse osmosis membrane.
CONSTITUTION: A solution containing nutrient components contributing the proliferation of bacteria, e.g the distillation bottom residue of whisky, alcohol, etc., is subjected to the reverse osmosis treatment at ≥ about 45°C, pref. about 45W65°C, using a heat-resistant reverse osmosis membrane capable of performing the reverse osmosis treatment of an aqueous solution at pH 0W14 and 45W90°C for ≥1,000hr. The concentrate thus obtained is, if necessary, further concentrated by distillation.
