Abstract
PURPOSE: To lengthen the lifetime of a brush, a slip ring and bearings, by placing a yoke, which houses a magnetic coil, at a given side, and dispensing with unnecessary rotation, and to prevent oil or grease from flying away, by covering the end of the bearing with a hub and the yoke.
CONSTITUTION: A hub 12 fitted with an armature 9 is secured on a pulley 13 for transmitting motive power, so that the hub 12 is rotated together with the pulley 13. A slip ring 3 is fitted on a yoke 5 which houses a magnetic coil 1 and is secured on a driven shaft 7. A brush 2 is located in contact with the slip ring 3. Since the yoke 5 is placed at a driven side and remains stopped throughout a nonexcitation of the coil 1, the wear of the brush 2 and the slip ring 3 is reduced. Since an exciting current flows through the yoke 5 and the driven shaft 7 in the main but does not flow through bearings 14a, 14b, they are protected from deterioration due to electrolytic corrosion. The end of the bearing 14b is covered with the hub 12 and the end of the yoke 5 so that grease 23 is prevented from flying away.
