Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtan an interior part for an automoble, improved in its surface appearance, in the reduced number of work, by forming a bending groove at a part of a composite resin core material at the same time when the core material is formed, and bending the groove. CONSTITUTION:The composite resin-core material 1 is softened with a heat, surface material 2, e.g. carpet, nonwoven fabric or cloth, is put onto the softened surface, and the material 1 is press-formed in this state by cooled dies 3, 4. In this case, the lower die 4 is provided with at least one line of a projecting rib 5. As a result, in the forming step with the cooled dies 3, 4, the composite resin-core material 1 and the surface material 2 are passed and stuck together, and a bending groove 6 corresponding to the projecting rib 5 of the low die 4 is formed in the composite resin-core material 1. Thereafter, the semiproduct is taken out from the dies 3, 4 and bent along the bending groove 6 to obtain a final product. The figures 3a and 4a represent cooling pipes arranged in the upper die 3 and the lower die 4, respectively. In addition, a cut edge 3b along the profile of the product is formed at the periphery of the metal die 3.
