Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the device small-sized and lightweight and improve the efficiency, by controlling a part of the overall output power by an auxiliary switching regulator which controls only components of the variable range of an output voltage and an input variation. CONSTITUTION:The device consists of a pulse width fixed converter CVA and a switching regulator SRB, and the DC input applied across terminals T1 and T2 is switched by a transistor TR13 of the SRB and is transformed by a converter trnsformer 14 and is rectified by diodes 15 and 16 and is smoothed by a choke coil 17 and a capacitor 18 and is applied as a DC voltage across the middle of a transformer 4 and emitters of TRs 2 and 3 of the CVA. Consequently, the sum of the output voltage of the SRB and the DC input is applied to the transformer 4. The difference between a reference voltage and a voltage obtained by dividing the output of the CVA is amplified by a differential amplifier 10, and the TR13 is controlled by a signal having a pulse width prescribed by the output of the amplifier 10. Since the SRB controls only the variation of input and output and smoothing of the CVA is performed only for the peak value, no inductance is required, and the device is small-sized and lightweight.
