Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove a chrome coating film from the tin free steel surface without producing an oxide film on the steel plate surface by subjecting the steel plate to milling or grinding processing within a chamber kept in inactive gas atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A grindstone 10a turned by a motor 20 is provided within a chamber 11. A belt 9 is provided for feeding the blank 7 of tin free steel through a slit 17 provided at the entrance of a chamber 11 in the direction normal to a grindstone axis 20a, and a magnet lever 14 is placed on the underside of the belt 9. A blow-off nozzle 12 for blowing off inactive gas such as nitrogen gas into the chamber is arranged near the grindstone 10a. The blank 7 is ground on its edge by the grindstone 10a while being held with a guide 22 in the atmosphere of inactive gas.
