Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable density of each printed letter to make an approximately uniform show, by a method wherein, in a device which prints a character,a displayed on a CRT through the medium of a film, a mechanism, controlling the luminescence of the CRT corresponding to an input letter code, is provided. CONSTITUTION:If a character code is applied to a character generator CG2 from a character code generator 1, a control signal corresponding to the character code is applied to a CRT4 through an amplifier 3 from the CG2 to display the character on the CRT4. Meanwhile, the character code is applied to a luminescence modulating code generator 7 which applies a luminescence modulating code, corresponding to the character code, to a D/A converter 8 to correct the luminescence of the CRT4 through an amplifier 9. This causes a character formed with a large number of strokes to be displayed lightly and a character formed with a less number of strokes to be displayed deeply, thereby a character being transferred and printed directly or through the medium of a lens 5 on a film, printing paper 6, appears uniformly.
