Abstract

PURPOSE:To reliably detect breakage and slack, by a method wherein, in a heat- sensitive transfer system printing issuing unit, film detectors are located at an unwinding side and a winding side of a heat-sensitive transfer film. CONSTITUTION:A tension arm 35 is located so that it can freely turn in a direction of an arrow mark E, and when a heat-sensitive transfer film F is returned through reverse feed of the film F unwound from a winding reel 34, an appropriate tension is applied to the heat-sensitive transfer film. A detector 93, situated below the tension arm 35, detects breakage or slack of the heat-sensitive transfer film F when they occur. A tension arm 44 can freely turn in a direction of an arrow mark F and applies an appropriates tension of the heat- sensitive transfer film F. A detector 94 is located at the right of the tension arm 44, and when the heat-sensitive transfer film F is broken, the tension arm 44 is inhibited from being detected by the detector 94.
