Abstract

PURPOSE:To solubilize the titled compound useful as a disinfectant for removing dandruff in water, by using an amino acid, amino acid hydrochloride, alkali salt of amino acid and/or water-soluble peptide having no toxicity to organisms, extremely high safety and utility to the skin. CONSTITUTION:In blending shampoo or hair tonic with bis (2-pyridylthio-1-oxide) zinc (zinc phyrithione), this compound together with one or more of an amino acid, amino acid hydrochloride, an alkali salt of amino acid, and water-soluble peptide is added to water so that slightly water-soluble zinc phyrithione is made soluble in water, to give a trasparent aqueous solution. By this method, zinc pyrithione can be dispersed into a system uniformly, the compound increases its penetrating properties to the skin of the head, and it can exhibit its medicinal effect fully.
