Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the demand of switching loss by inhibiting ignition signals to the thyristor bulb when voltage applied to a thyristor exceeds a fixed level or higher. CONSTITUTION:When a partial voltage resistance circuit 26 for detecting forward voltage is connected in parallel with the thyristor arm of a thyristor element row 21 and the forward voltage detecting circuit 27 of the output terminal exceeds the fixed detecting level, detecting signals are forwarded to an ignition signal block circuit 29 through a light guide 28. The block signals of the ignition signal block circuit 29 are sent out to an ignition circuit 30, and the ignition signals S1 forwarded to the ignition circuit 30 are blocked. Accordingly, the ignition circuit 30 does not give the ignition signals to the thryistors 22 even when the ignition signals S1 reach.
