Abstract
PURPOSE:To release the locking mechanism of a valve body by means of a solenoid in order to automatically put the valve body into operation so as to close a gas passage by a method wherein the solenoid is electrically connected to a gas alarm or a seismoscope. CONSTITUTION:When gas leakage or earthquake occurs, the solenoid 3 is energized through a cord 36 connected to the gas alarm or the seismoscope in order to pull a pin 6 backward by the attractive force of the solenoid 3, resulting for a valve rod 20 in being strongly pushed down by the expanding force of a spring 31 so as to abut the valve body 21 against a valve seat 22 in order to close the passage 28. In order to return the valve body 21 to its open state, a knob 34 is pulled upward so as to bring an annular groove 33 to the same level with a horizontal hole 32, resulting in pushing the pin 6 forward by the expanding force of a spring 14 so as to pushingly fit the tip part 7 of the pin 6 in the annular groove 33.
