Abstract

PURPOSE:An electrolyte stirring device of a lead acid battery, often used in deep discharge state, such as for an electric car or a forklift. CONSTITUTION:Figure 1 shows a container, 2 an electrolyte, 3 a porous tube, whose lower end 4 is closed and upper end 5 is connected in airtightness to a guide tube 6 which is connected in airtightness with a gas path 7 outside a cell. The pore size of the porous tube 3 should be selected in such a way that the electrolyte or air can transmit but the resistance of air transmission through the pore is larger than that of air supply inside the tube. When air is supplied from the gas path 7, the air is pushed out from the whole surfaces of the porous tube 3 in a form of fine bubble, and rises up slowly within the electrolyte. If the upper part of the electrolyte becomes low specific gravity and the lower part of it becomes high specific gravity, a great number of fine bubbles rise up with thin layer of the high specific gravity electrolyte of their surroundings. Therefore, the concentration difference of the electrolyte can be effectively elminiated.
