Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve abrasion test free from effect of wear dust with the duplication of a heat cycle by turning a test piece placed on the outer surface of one of two cylinders parallel to each other in the axis which are made movable longitudinally and laterally in a relative manner. CONSTITUTION:The temperature of a material model 1 is measured with a radiation thermometer 18 once it is heated with a high frequency heating coil 17 to coincide with the temperature during forging. A table 12 is moved by the operation of a handle 13 so that a die model 19 mounted on a disc 9 parallel in the axis to the material model 1 comes close to and contacts the material model 1. The sum of the peripheral velocities V1 and V2 of the material model 1 and the die model 19 matches the slide speed during the forging by controlling motors 8 and 11. The handle 13 is operated to reach coincidence between the contact time between both models and the actual working time and the table 12 is moved so axially by a motor 15 that the surface of the material model 1 without groove will always rub the die model 19. In this manner, the abrasion test is performed.
