Abstract
PURPOSE:To make welding work simpler and appearance after welding better and to permit welding of extremely fine parts by utilizing condensed electromagnetic waves in welding of external parts for timepieces. CONSTITUTION:A lamp 4 which emits electromagnetic waves and an optical means which condense light, for example, a reflecting mirror 3 are contained in the body 1 of a welding device having an electric power source device 2. The mirror 3 is such that it reflects electromagnetic waves and can condense these to a spot. The lamp 4 is preferably the one that emits single spectral light and the body 1 has a protection cover 5. In the case of welding external parts for timepieces by using such device, for example, welding the legs of a dial, a leg 7 having silver solder 7a at the center is disposed in the prescribed position of a dial base plate 6 approximately under no load. If the condensed beam of electromagnetic waves is irradiated to the neck 7b of the leg or the rear surface of the plate 6 from the direction A or B in a reducing atmosphere, the silver solder melts in about 2-3sec and this completes welding.
