Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the leakage of sand from a shutter part in the stage of blowing the molding sand in a hopper into a molding flask by means of a blow head and molding a mold for casting, by providing a rotary shutter between the hopper and the blow head. CONSTITUTION:Molding sand compounded and kneaded with a binder is blown into a molding flask 35 for molding a mold consisting of a top part 26 and a bottom part 38 from a blow head 14, whereby the mold is molded. The molding sand mixed beforehand with the binder is supplied at a constant rate from a hopper 8 into the head 14 then the head 14 is advanced to connect a blow plate 34 to the flask 35 and the molding sand is blown by the pressurized air from a hose 28 into the cavity for molding the mold in the flask 35. In this case, a rotary shutter 20 is provided between the sand supply hose 22 from the hopper 8 and the inlet of the head 14. When the molding sand is going to be blown into the flask 35, the opening of said shutter is closed to prevent the leakage of the molding sand from the shutter part to the outside.
