Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve voltage recovery characteristics by a simple method and to contrive the stabilization of arc as well by a method wherein suitable sized magnetic material blocks are installed on a rotor and an external additional device is eliminated. CONSTITUTION:Gaps 6 are maintained wider than the gap 7 between an armature 1 and a rotor 2 and are provided between the N pole and S pole symmetrically provided at the rotor 2 of a rotating field-type welding generator and suitable sized magnetic material blocks 5 are installed on the rotor. The voltage recovered when a welding rod is released from short-circuit condition by providing with the blocks 5 appears by adding closed circuit magnetic flux phi3 shunted to the magnetic materials 5 to the magnetic flux phi2' at load and voltage recovery becomes high and stable arc can be obtained. Furthermore, welding work becomes very easy.
