Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the control from the host system side, by detecting that a cassette type bubble memory is connected to a controlling circuit and a driving circuit through the change in the voltage level caused by a mechanical switch, etc. CONSTITUTION:When a 5V voltage is applied across a signal line 11 and the signal line 11 is grounded through a cassette 5, the signal line 11 has the same electric potential as GND whenthe cassette 5 is connected, and 5V when the cassette 5 is cut off. Therefore, a CPU10 can know whether the cassette 5 exists or not by detecting the voltage level of the signal line 11 through a path buffer 9. Consequently, when defective loop data are read out at the time point where the cassette 5 is connected, processings of data writing on or data reading from the bubble memory device can be performed by the defective loop data of the cassette which is always connected even when the cassette is exchanged.
