Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a concealing ink for effectively concealing a letter or design recorded or printed on a sheet of paper or plastics, said ink being easily scraped off when dried by incorporating an opaque pigment, Al powder, an ethylene/ vinyl acetate copolymer and an organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:The titted ink contains 5-50pts.wt. opaque pigment (e.g.titanium white, carbon black, or red iron oxide), 2-25pts.wt. Al powder, 2-15pts.wt. ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer (e.g.a copolymer having a vinyl acetate moeity content of 25-50wt%) and 30-80pts.wt. orgaic solvent (e.g.toluene or ethylbenzene). This concealing ink has printing layer would not be easily removed by light abrasion or contact since the ink has a suitable adhesiveness to a substrate sheet, the concealing layer can be readily and completely scraped off by a holder of a writing material or a corner of a coin to reveal the printed letter or the like beneath the layer.
