Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform welding work, smoothly and speedily, by a method wherein longitudinal members are laid on trasverse members, a facing plate member is placed thereon, then the members are lifted up by a lifting means to form a working space, and an automatic welder is freely operated in the working space. CONSTITUTION:A working platform 10 is provided on the bottom surface of a passage 3 for series of flow production. Trucks 12 provided with the lifting means 13 are traveled along rails 11 laid on the platform 10. When building hull blocks, the transverse members 4 are supported on the lifting means 13 in such a manner that the surfaces 15 to be brought into contact with the facing plate member 8 are directed upwards, the longitudinal members 5 are placed on the transverse members 4 in such a manner that the surfaces 18 to be brought into contact with the facing plate member 8 are directed upwards, and the facing plate member 8 is placed across on the surfaces 15, 18.
