Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the durability of locker arm made light in weight and provide possibility of massproduction by making the major components of a locker arm from steel sheet by a press and by enhancing the rigidity of an arm assembly through consolidaton of parts firmly by welding.
CONSTITUTION: A locker arm is composed of the upper body 1, lower body 2, a cylindrical member 6, a cam stopper 3 and a nut 4. The upper and lower bodies 1,2 are formed from a steel sheet by a press into channels each having a pair of side walls 8, 28, a coupling part 9, 29 and a semicircular notch 11, 31, respectively; these two channels are set together by welding at the coupling parts 9, 29. A cylindrical member 6 is formed by bending a steel sheet and fitted in the notches 11, 31 upon installing a bearing. Then a cam stopper 3 is formed from an abrasive material by forging and fixed to the fixation point 13. By this arragenment, the locker arm is firmly consolidated.
