Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the flexibility of a crank pin grinding device used for working the crank pin, etc. of an internal combustion engine by constituting a multitude of cylindrical grinding machines with the number of sets equal to one half of crank pins on a single crank shaft under work and by grinding individual pins provided at predetermined radial and axial positions. CONSTITUTION:The first loader L1 is coupled with a supply source S of unground crank shafts, and it conveys the crank shafts to a starting position of the first conveyor LC1 and a final position of the second conveyor LC2. The second loader L2 couples in action a final position of the first conveyor LC1 with a ground crank shaft accepting unit R, and it conveys the ground crank shafts from the accepting position to a crank shaft rotating mechanism T in sequence as shown by an arrow. The number of cylindrical grinding machines provided is equal to one half of the crank pins of a single crank shaft under work. the figure shows the case of two sets, and the cylindrical grinding machines 1, 2 are optionally proceeded downward by a single rotatable grinding wheel 10 provided on a grindstone bed so as to get into contact for grinding with crank shaft crank pins provided at predetermined radial and axial positions.
