Abstract
PURPOSE:To quickly return responses to multiple address packets, by performing the responses through slots secured by the multiple address packet transmitting station. CONSTITUTION:When a multiple address packet B1 is transmitted from Station S1, the station transmit several pieces of address information representing calling stations S2-S7 in addition to the data to be transmitted after securing slots (4a) and (4b) required for transmitting answers. The packet B1 is received by stations S2, S4, S5, and S6, and each of these stations understands that the packet B1 is addressed to them and the response to the packet B1 must be made through a small slot in the slots (4a) or (4b). The stations transmit response packets A2, A4, A5, and A6. Station S1 receives the secured slots (4a) and (4b) and understands that Stations S3 and S7 could not receive the packet B1. Therefore, the station S1 transmits the multiple address packet B1 again after transmissions of data packet D3, D4, and D6 are terminated and a slot (4c) is secured for response. Then, the station S1 receives the response packets A3 and A7.
