Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize the action of synchronizing rings which conjoin a clutch dog to synchronizing sleeves, by tightly fitting the synchronizing rings in annular grooves provided on the clutch dog. CONSTITUTION:Synchronizing sleeves 53, 54 for forward and backward motion are spline-coupled with the peripheral part of a clutch dog 45 near both its ends so that the sleeves can slide in the axial direction. Annular grooves 55A, 55B are provided on the peripheral part of the clutch dog 45 near both its ends. Synchronizing rings 56A, 56B are housed as interlocking means in the grooves 55A, 55B. Since both the flat support sides 57 of the synchronizing rings 56A, 56B are put in extensive contact with both the internal sides of the grooves 55A, 55B along the total circumference, the rings are stably supported in the grooves.
