Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent lubricant constituent from mixing with newly charged air, by separating a suction passage from a crankcase, by providing a scavenging pump to a suction passage, which is connected with the scavenging port of an engine, and by revolving the pump at the same speed as that of a crankshaft and to the reverse direction to the crankshaft. CONSTITUTION:A scavenging pump 21 is turned to a direction B by a crankshaft 7 which is turned to a direction A, by the intermediary of a driving gear 27 and a follower gear 26, while an engine is operated. Accordingly, the scavenging pump 21 sucks fresh air through a suction passage 17, and feeds it into a pre- compression chamber 16, after pressurizing it. When a scavenging port 15 is opened, accompanied with the descent of a piston 3, the pressurized air reserved in a pre-compression chamber 16 flows into a combustion chamber 4, pushing combustion gas out to an exhaust port 14, to scavenge the air from a combustion chamber 4. When a piston 3 reaches a top and a bottom dead points, the position of a gravity of a scavenging pump 21 and a counterweight 13 come to the opposite side to a piston 3, which offsets a reciprocating inertia force of a piston 3.
