Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the friction among metallic powders by using specific acidic org. phosphoric acids, org. phosphorous acids, org. phosphonic acids, their metallic salts, ammonium salts, amine salts, alkylene oxides, etc. as lubricants for metallic powders of raw materials in a powder metallury method. CONSTITUTION:The following powder lubricants are used in order to reduce the friction among metallic powders of raw materials used in a powder metallurgy method and the friction between the metallic powders and the walls of plunger punches for pressure molding, to increase the density of metallic powder moldings and to reduce the abrasion of the plunger punches by friction: A mixture of 1 or >=2 kinds of the acidic org. phosphoric acids, org. phosphorous acids, and org. phosphonic acids expressed by the formulas[I]and[II]as well as their respective metallic salts, ammonium salts, amine salts and alkylene oxide addition products are used. Here, the R1, R2, R3 in the formula (II) are the same as in the case of the formula[I].
