Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively recover low quality heat by a method wherein heat is exchanged between hot waste water and feed water in counter flow system through metal tubes, in which heat transfer medium capable of utilizing the incoming and outgoing of heat in the form of latent heat by utilizing the phase changes from liquid to solid and vice versa is sealed. CONSTITUTION:A bundle of metal finned tubes 1 consists of groups of tubes, each of which is in a same line in the bundle and connected with one another with a plate, being connected through partition plates 2 and a plurality of rows of hot waste water passages 3 and feed water passages 4 are provided parallel and adjacent to the groups of tubes. The medium capable of utilizing the incoming and outgoing of heat in the form of latent heat by utilizing the phase change from liquid to solid, the melting point of which lies in the range 10-90 deg.C, such as oils, waxes, hydrocarbons or the like is sealed in the metal tubes 1 and hot waste water and low temperature tap water are respectively flowed within the hot waste water passages 3 and the feed water passages 4 in order to heat-exchange between said waters. Owing to the method as mentioned above, the low quality heat in the order of the temperature 20-60 deg.C can be effectively recovered and the hot water supply with the adequate temperature can be performed.
