Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the discrimination of the presence or absence of a curing agent in an unsaturated polyester resin mixture, by adding a color-developing assistant, etc. to the mixture, thereby making the mixture to develop red color by adding a specific curing agent before use, and fade the color by heat curing.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. of an unsaturated polyester resin is mixed with preferably 0.01W3.0pts. of a cobalt salt of an organic acid (e.g. cobalt naphthenate) as a cure accelerator and preferably 0.005W2.0pts. of N,N'-di-2-naphthyl-p-phenylenediamine as a color developing assistant. The composition is compounded with preferably 0.1W3pts. of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide as a curing agent in use to develop the color, and cured by heating. The curing reaction completes when the red color is completely faded.
