Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of irregular density over the entire part of copies by disposing plural pieces of photoelectric elements to a slit member through which the projected light images of an original pass, in such a way that they do not align in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the slit. CONSTITUTION:A slit forming member 7 is disposed with plural pieces of photoelectric elements 12 on both sides at the center of a slit 7a in such a way as not to align in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the slit 7a corresponding to the width and moving directions of the original, by which the quantity of the projected light images of the original is detected. The quantity of light is controlled by providing weights to the elements 12 corresponding to the central part of the original where the existence probability of the image region is high. With such disposition, the average values of the detected outputs of the respective elements 12 do not differ so much and the generation of the irregular density over the entire part of the copy is prevented despite the alignment of the image region of the belt-like light images of the original in te longitudinal or transverse direction of the slit 7. Since weights are provided to the elements 12 corresponding to the central part of the original, the copying of the adequate density corresponding to the original is accomplished.
