Abstract
PURPOSE:To save space and weight and lessen manpower by providing an original platen having original setting area for two sides of the copying size to a both-sides copying machine, placing the two originals simultaneously on the original platen and copying these alternately. CONSTITUTION:A copying machine is so arranged that, when a rotary photosensitive drum 1 rotates up to a predetermined position, an original platen 4 placed with an original 3 on an original platen glass 2 which is an original setting area starts moving and is irradiated from below by a lighting lamp 5. In this case, the original platen 4 has a size covering a B4 size, and the original setting surface is divided to a face A and a face B at the center so that two faces of a B5 size are placed simultaneously on the original platen. If, for the example, the face A of the original platen positions just before the slit of the lighting part and exposure process ends, the original platen stops. In this way, the similar operation is carried out with the face B as well, whereby the transfer of both faces A and B are efficiently executed.
