Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate loading a film to a camera, by providing a means which detects an overlong film leader to wind it into a cartridge if the film leader is overlong when the cartridge is mounted and a rear cover is closed. CONSTITUTION:When a rear cover 3 is opened to load a cartridge P into a storage chamber 5 of a cartridge loading member 4, a film leader F is guided by a guide member 10 and is led into a slit 6; and when the rear cover 3 is closed, the film leader F is pressed against surfaces of running rails, which are provided above and below an aperture 8 for exposure, by a film press plate provided on the rear cover 3, and perforations are engaged with pawls 12a of a film feeding device 12. If the film leader F is overlong and is protruded from the camera, an arm 23a of a lever 23 cannot be engaged with a groove 22, and a switch 25 is closed to reverse the feeding device 12, and the film is rewound into the cartridge P. Consequently, the film is loaded easily.
