Abstract

PURPOSE:To receive a picture irrespective of whether a transmitting device has an error control function or not, and to expand a communication range, by automatically detecting by a receiving device whether the transmitting device has the error control function or not, and automatically setting a receiving state corresponding to a detected function. CONSTITUTION:A signal (a) from a transmitting device is demodulated by a demodulating part 1, a digital signal (b) from the demodulating part 1 is inputted to an error control existence or nonexistence detecting part 2, a data array of the signal (b) is discriminated, and a detecting signal (i) showing whether an error exists or not is outputted. This detecting part 2 is constituted of the first detecting circuit part for detecting the data array in case when an error exists, and the second detecting circuit part for detecting the array in case when no error exists, and the detected signal (i) showing whether an error exists or not is applied to an AND gate 5, its AND with the signal (b) is taken and is applied to an OR gate 8. Also, the signal (i) is processed by an error control processing part 3, an error control surface signal processing part 4, an AND gate 7, etc., and after that, is applied to a gate 8, and from the gate 8, in accordance with the result of detection of the detecting part 2, a receiving state corresponding to whether an error exists or not is outputted.
