Abstract
PURPOSE:To recover the degree of vacuum of a vacuum servo unit directly through a bypass passage in a short time when the degrees of vacuum in both a vacuum tank and the vacuum servo unit are reduced to less than the predetermined values respectively due to frequent brake operations. CONSTITUTION:When the degrees of vacuum in a vacuum tank 7 and a cacuum servo unit 1 are rapidly reduced to less than the predetermined values due to frequent brake operations, they are detected by vacuum detection sensors 16a, 16b, and a control circuit 15 switches a transfer valve 9 so as to connect a bypass passage 5 to a vacuum pump 11 and also closes a stop valve 6 so as to cut off the cacuum servo unit 1 from the vacuum tank 7. As a result, the vacuum pump 11 introduces a negative pressure into a front cell 1b of the vacuum servo unit 1 through a part of the second passage 8 and the bypass passage 5, therefore, the degree of vacuum of the vacuum servo unit 1 is recovered rapidly, and when it is recovered beyond the predetermined value, then the transfter value 9 is switched so that the vacuum pump 11 recovers the degree of vacuum of the vacuum tank 7 to the predetermined value.
