Abstract

PURPOSE: To pour a dried noodle bundle in boiling water and boil it therein without loosening the bundle, by collecting dried noodles in a given amount with an edible high polymeric material capable of loosening the bundle in boiling water.
CONSTITUTION: Bundled dried noodles 4 fed from an automatic feed apparatus (III) to a boiling container 12 one after another at a dried noodle feeding position (I) are collected into a dried noodle bundle 1 in a given amount by an edible high polymeric material 2, e.g. a pullulan film. The collected noodle bundle 1 is then contained in the container 12, covered with a lid and introduced into a boiling water bath (II). The film 2 is directly dissolved in boiling water to loose the bundle 1. The resultant loosened noodle strips are spread on the container 12, individually brought into contact with the boiling water and boiled completely on leaving the boiling water bath (II).
