Abstract
PURPOSE:To permit the measurement of the input/output characteristics of even an encoder to be measured, to which a DC input cannot be applied, by a method wherein the input characteristics of the encoder are measured by applying a known discontinuous input waveform thereto such as a step waveform or the like. CONSTITUTION:From a waveform generator 13, a discontinuous analog signal x(t) whose amplitude is controlled by a result-processing circuit 15 is generated, and inputted to an encoder 10 to be measured. Thereupon, a band-pass filter 11 in said encoder 10 generates a known transient phenomenon waveform signal y(t) according to the transfer function thereof, which is digital-coded in an encoder 12 and stored in a memory 14. Then, said signal is processed in the result-processing circuit 15, being made to correspond to the analog levels corresponding to the sampling points of the waveform y(t) previously stored. Thereby, it is possible to measure the input/output characteristics of the encoder to be measured, to which a DC input cannot be applied.
