Abstract

PURPOSE:To fractionate automatically and accurately using a computer, by taking minimum values of an electrophoretic pattern of a standard serum as reference points, comparing said values with minimum values of an electrophoretic pattern of a specimen and taking the closest minimum value among them as a fractionation point. CONSTITUTION:In the determination of five fractions of albumin, alpha1 globulin, alpha2 globulin, beta globulin and gamma globulin by means of electrophesis of a human serum using a cellulose acetate film, in order that minimum values b1-b4 of a pattern of a standard serum are taken as reference and compared with a pattern of a specimen to thereby remove unnecessary minimum points b5', b6' generated by turbidity and freshness of the specimen from fractionation points, the calculation is performed by placing peak ao of a standard serum and peak ao' of a serum to be tested at the same point on an X axis of coordinates, and by taking advantage of the fact that ratios of distances from peak ao to the minumim points b1-b4 on the X axis are the same for the serum of a patient suffering from an immune disease and the standard serum, to thereby take b' closest to a standard ratio as a fractionation point and remove b5' and b6. Thus, by using a computer, it is posible to perform a fractionation treatment without collecting a standard serum every time.
