Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable an electron gun having a large-aperture electron lens to be easily assembled with high accuracy by providing the end of a large-inner- diameter electrode with a recessed part, which is made close to the axis of the electron gun to such a degree that it doesn't touch the smaller outer diameter part of a two-outer-diameter electrode, and making the large-inner-diameter electrode to be supported by an insulating member by means of a projection supporting part provided at the said recessed part. CONSTITUTION:By making the outer diameter (d) of a third-grid-projection supporting part 53 smaller than the inner diameter (D) of a fourth grid 6, the part 53 can be easily passed through the end of the grid 6 by rotating the diametral part of the part 53 apart from the diametral part of a fourth-grid-projection supporting part 62 (a recessed part 61) at an appropriate angle of (theta). After the passing of the part 53, the rotational angle (theta) is returned back to zero so as to make the electrodes to be coaxially supported by an insulating member 7. In assembling the electron gun of this invention, there is no work of connecting two parts divided in the axial direction into one electrode. Besides, any axial shift which might be caused when only one electrode is used is prevented, and the number of assembling processes is reduced.
