Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure a high-speed detection in pressing a key down for a keyboard containing an encoding circuit using the dynamic scanning system, by decreasing the number of times of maximum scanning that is required for the press-down of the key. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer encoder 21 detects the press-down of a key and thus produces the code and strobe signals to an external interface. An AND circuit 22 which uses the signal lines of all columns as the input produces an output signal when the key of the row corresponding to the scan signal is pressed. The encoder 21 scans successively each of the rows X0-Xn and then switches the scanning sequence when detecting the press-down of the key distributed on a specific row with the output of the circuit 22. Then each row is selected individually by a multiplexer 23 and with the selection signal, and the keys arranged on the corresponding row are scanned one by one. Then the row of the pressed key is discriminated by the output terminal of the multiplexer 23.
