Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the ultrasonic flowmeter characterized by good machining property and excellent accuracy and reliabiliy by arranging an electric sound transducer in a pipe wherein fluid to be measured flows via a liquid coupling member. CONSTITUTION:Ultrasonic guide rods 2 are provided in a harmetically sealed housing 51 wherein fused metal or inorganic or organic liquid 53 is sealed. The shape of the tips of the guide rods 2 is formed in a curved shape corresponding to the pipe 1 wherein the fluid to be measured flows. The distance between the pipe and said curved surface is made 1/2 or less than the wavelength of the ultrasonic wave. Thus the effect of attenuation on the transmission of the ultrasonic wave caused by the ultrasonic coupling member 5 is suppressed. In this constitution the ultrasonic flowmeter characterized by good machining property and excellent accuracy and reliability is obtained.
