Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform a simple and inexensive detection of leakage of water in a line from a change in color phase, by a method wherein a flexible bagform object, in which a material, changing a color phase through water, is placed on the surface thereof, is inflated in an inspecting position. CONSTITUTION:In the case of check for the presence of leakage of water 10 from the outside of a flange part of a line 1, a bagform material 3, which is brought to a deflated manner, and an object, coated with a material 4 for changing a color phase through water, are pushed into the line. After the bagform material 3 is inserted into a given flange part, air is blown into the bagform material 3 through an air line 2, which results in causing the material 4 to be adhered to the inner surface of the line 1 following inflation of the bagform material 3 for changing a color phase. In case water leakage occurs, water contacts the material 4 to change a color, and this permits the detection of water leakage. In case the material 4 is collected, it can be easily moved to the outside of the line through bleeding of air.
