Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an optical switch which is capable of easily confirming turn-on and turn-off states, by providing a photodetecting means on a photodetecting position of a reflected ray signal from a semi-transparent reflection surface in a state that pressure is not applied on a transparent elastic body. CONSTITUTION:An optical switch is usually in a turn-on state when an optical signal projected from a projecting means 1 is reflected by a semi-transparent reflection surface 11A and a reflection surface 11B, and is photodetected by a photodetecting means 3. In this state, a part of the optical signal projected from the projecting means 1 transmits the semi-transparent reflection surface 11A and visibly transmits a transparent elastic body 9, therefore, an on-state of the switch can be visually confirmed. Subsequently, when the transparent elastic body 9 is deformed by putting pressure in order to control the optical signal, an inclination of both the semi-transparent reflection surface 11A and the reflection surface 11B is varied, an optical path of the reflected signal is varied, it cannot be photodetected by the photodetecting means 3 as shown in the figure, and a photodetecting signal of the photodetecting means 3 is turned off. When pressure against the transparent elastic body 9 is removed, the reflected ray signal can be photodetected again by the photodetecting means 3.
