Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform position detection of high reliability without hysteresis for a throttle valve, by securing a rotor to a shaft of the throttle valve, mounting a reflection mirror to the rotor and providing light emitting and receiving units and photocoupler at a face-to-face position to said reflecting mirror. CONSTITUTION:Voltage is applied across a power source terminal 9 and earth terminal 10 to emit light from a light emitting unit 15a of a photocoupler 15, and the light is refelcted by a reflecting mirror 14, mounted to a rotor 13, at a position of a throttle valve shaft 1 under an idling condition, if a light receiving unit 15b is existent within a range of luminous flux 16, to output an ON signal from an output terminal 11. When the shaft 1 is angularly displaced to the direction of increasing a rotary speed, the reflected luminous flux 16 is amplified to the displacement of double angle and deflected out of the light receiving unit 15b. Accordingly, hysteresis is eliminated, and chattering from vibration is removed, further position detection of high reliability can be performed for a throttle valve because of contactlessness.
