Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an effective water shielding effect by a method in which a rubber outer skin is integrally covered on a long and elastic steel bag-like material having a crescent-shaped hollow cross section to form a cut-off rubber, and the cut-off rubber is expanded or shrunk by a pressure fluid selectively introduced into its hollow. CONSTITUTION:Cut-off rubbers 11a, 11c, made of a crescent-shaped hollow cut- off rubber 11, are attached to the bottom, sides, and upside of a vertically movable door 6 of a radial type gate, and the cut-off rubber 11 is made up by integrally covering a long and elastic steel bag-like material 12 having a crescent-shaped hollow cross section with a rubber outer skin 13. Thus, when being pressed, the crescent-shaped opening of the cut-off rubber 11 is opened to effectuate a water shielding effect, and a high-pressure fluid is selectively introduced into the hollow through a switching valve 8 and a pressure supply pipe 19, or air is introduced into the hollow through a depressurizing pipe 20.
