Abstract
PURPOSE:To recover optical transmittivity by directly transmitting light from a light source to an optical fiber flux for image guide of which optical transmittivity is deteriorated by coloration due to irradiation through an optical fiber flux for light guide. CONSTITUTION:A leading end part of an image forming optical system 12 of an endoscope body 1 is connected to an eyepiece optical system 14 of the endoscope through an optical connection apparatus. Consequently, light from a light source for observation is directly transmitted from a leading end 11b of an optical fiber flux 11 for light guide to an end part 13b in the eyepiece optical system side of an optical glass fiber flux 13 for image guide. Thus, the optical fiber flux 13 colored (yellowed) by irradiation recovers its optical transmittivity up to 89% within 10hrs by using light from an 150W halogen light source for example.
