Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:An azo compound of formulaIexpressed as a free acid [wherein one of R1, R2 is -SO3H and other is H; X is formula II, III, or IV (R3 is H, formula V; R4 is H, -COCH3, -CONH2; R5 is formula VI; R6 is H, -CH3, formula VII; R7 is H, formula VIII)].
USE: A dye for polyester/cellulose blended spun yarn or for textile printing (suitable for dyeing in an acid bath at a high temperature and dyeable in a one-bath one- step process with a disperse dye). Color hue is black.
PREPARATION: A tetrazo compound of the amine of formula IX is coupled with 2mol of 2-amino-8-hydroxynaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid to obtain a diaminodisazo dye which is then tetrazotized and coupled with 1mol of m-aminophenol. The product is then coupled with 1mol of the coupling component of type X-H to obtain an azo compound of formulaI.
