Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an ethylene polymer having improved powder property in high activity, by (co)polymerizing ethylene with the aid of a catalyst system consisting of an organoaluminum compound and a specified inert-hydrocarbon- insoluble solid catalytic component.
CONSTITUTION: Ethylene is (co)polymerized with the aid of a catalyst system consisting of an organoaluminum compound (e.g., triethylaluminum) and an inert- hydrocarbon-insoluble solid catalytic component obtained by reacting a halide of Ti and/or V (e.g., TiCl4, VCl4) with a solid component obtained by treating hydrotalcite and/or hydromagnesite with at least one compound selected from the group consisting of alkoxides of Ti, V and Zr, (e.g., triethoxytitanium chloride, butoxyoxyvanadium chloride). It is possible to obtain a polymer having improved powder property in high activity.
