CONSTITUTION:A recording signal generating circuit RSS transmits a signal part during a vertical blanking period in a composite video signal given from a terminal 1 of a signal source VSS to a video signal distributing amplifier VDA from a terminal 3 in the signal mode where the vertical synchronizing pulses are missing. Further, the circuit RSS transmits the vertical synchronizing pulse from a terminal 4 to a pulse distributing amplifier PDA and gives the horizontal synchronizing pulse to a recorder. On the other hand, a reproducing device SRA obtains a reproducing signal from a recording medium after recording and supplies a reproducing signal to a monitor TV via an adaptor ADP. In this case, the device ADP picks up a reproducing key signal of the vertical synchronizing pulse, produces the vertical synchronizing pulse based on the key signal and adds it to the input composite video signal with missing vertical synchronizing pulses to output a video signal having the vertical synchronizing pulses.
