Abstract

PURPOSE:To reproduce optical information in a short time with high resolving power by arranging a master mask, where a tracking signal or information is recorded, on an optical memory material made of a heat mode recording material, and then allowing a condensed laser beam to scan on it. CONSTITUTION:On an optical memory material made of a heat mode material provided with a metallic recording layer which is deformed or removed thermally by an energy beam on a base, a master mask where a tracking signal or information is recorded is arranged closely, and a laser beam condensed to a spot with a >=10mum diameter scans on it. Consequently, the optical memory wherein the tracking signal and information are recorded is reproduced in a relatively short time with >=1mum high resolving power.
