PURPOSE:To correct recognition errors to improve the recognition capability considerably, by utilizing positively information of a degree of resemblance between similar patterns resulting collation. CONSTITUTION:An input voice 1 is converted to feature parameters in an analyzing part 2 and is sent to a collating parts 3-1-3-N for the collation with contents of standard pattern memories 4-1-4-N of respective phonemes. Cross pattern matching parts 6-1-6-N use results 5-1-5-N of the collation with respective phonemes to execute operations corresponding to terms in an expression specifying the input pattern and send results 7-1-7-N to a discriminating part 8. The discriminating part 8 compares results with one another and specifies the surest phoneme as the inputted phoneme and outputs a signal 9.
