Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the structure and automatically eliminate chest pressing feeling of a passenger in such a way that a seat belt is engaged by means of frictional engagement with an engaging member to work in response with the action of the passenger to recline his back on the seat. CONSTITUTION:A working link 20 is pivotally supported by means of a supporting strip 21 on a seat back frame 4, and an arm strip 22 is fixed on said link 20. One end of a flexible wire 23 is joined at the arm strip 22, and the other end of said wire 23 is joined to an engaging member 24 which is freely pivotally supported at the shoulder part of the seat 1. Besides, a guide member 12 is provided at the back part of the seat 1, and said guide member 12 is integrated by an upper side part 27 which slidingly contacts a shoulder belt 9, and by a lower side part 28 which forms a holding space 29 for said engaging member 24. And, a friction engaging part 30 of the engaging member 24 is made to be able to freely come in and out at said holding space 29, so that when a passenger gets seated and reclined, the belt 9 is engaged by means of friction engagement with said friction engaging part 30 and said upper side part 27 at its lower side.
