Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce bending in a roll pipe portion due to web tension by providing a guide roll for a laminator which has a specific relation between the ratio of the distance between bearing support ponts to the diameter of the guide roll and the ratio of the maximum web width to the diameter of the roll.
CONSTITUTION: A laminator is adapted to apply adhesives to a second film 9 drawn out from a second supply machine 5 at a coating station 4, and then to adhere the film to a first film 8 drawn out from a first supply machine 1 at a laminate station 3 so as to form a laminate film 10, which is rolled round a winder 7. In this laminator, guide rolls 11 for guiding a web are supported on a fixed member 25 attached to a frame 21 through a side plate 13 mounted on the inside of a pipe portion 12, a bearing 15 and a support shaft 27. The ratio S/D of the distance S between support points of the frame 21 and the bearing 15 to the diameter D of the guide roll and the ratio L/D of the maximum web width L to the roll diameter D have the following relation: L/D>S/D>10.
